    Hi Folks,

I'm delighted to be starting a degree in sociology & social policy this year, it was my 1st choice and I'm chuffed to have got to this stage in my goals since getting out of a bad marriage.

I hope to further my studies after my degree (4 years) and I am interested to know a few things:

Is there government funding availible for masters when on BTEA?

Can you do a masters in Law or a specific type of Law without doing a Law degree?

I am interested in possibly using my Soc&SocPol, gaining expertise in a particular area of law eg. family or others and becoming a legal proffessional. It might seem daft to some why I didn't just opt for law, but my reasoning is I want to train in a relevant law masters (or ?) to be able to make real changes to social policy inthe future. i realise this may be a very long road but does anyone have any relevant info or comments?

    Many thanks for your time

You don't get BTEA for masters courses.

I'm not too sure about law masters if they require a law degree. Maybe ask in the postgraduate forum.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
