    The fella would have been a lot better if there was a band on stage. Kinda weird just standing there singing with no props around, like a school variety concert. You could see he was trying to get into it.

    I think the whole thing of the coaches giving marks is stupid. Should have just left the format the same as last year.

    It's RTE. Notorious for poor sound on their live broadcasts. They really need to hire someone who actually knows how to mix live sound cos I've heard the gear they have is very high quality.

    the wonderful world of Irish tv soundmen. In fairness tv3 are better than rte. I remember this show last year had some crazy autotune type effect on the sound, at least that hasn't reared it's head.

    Right. It's a closed shop and impossible for new blood to sort out the problems. Been going on for years. The lat late is where they showcase their new developments in ruining sound
