Totally novice gardener here. Bought Ph testing kit as I've successfully killed every flower I planted this year! Just have 2 long beds really. The south facing one tested 7 but the north facing soil went off the scale so seems like Ph of 1 ! Am just wondering in case I measured soil at too deep a level or some other explanation before I go mixing in lime. Can soil even have a Ph that low? Can Ph vary at different depths? Is it enough to just measure at one spot or can it vary eg every metre.
