According to NatVigil4Life on twitter, Fine Gael support abortion up to birth.

Anyone know what they're basing this accusation on? Not near a computer so can't google it myself.

The proposed legislation to cover the X Case supreme court ruling does not have a time limit or gestational limit in it.

That is what they are basing the accusation on and banding about that FG supports killing babies at 39wks.

Despite the facts as it was stated clearly and badly by the Masters of Holles St and the Rotunda that once a fetus hits viability ending the pregnancy due to risk to the self destruction of the mother would be an early delivery and the resulting premature baby will be all possible care and intervention in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

    Shouldn't their posters really say:

    "Keep sending women to England!"

    "Pro birth!"

"Not in my backyard, anywhere else is fine though".

"Once pregnant, a woman's life is forfeit".

"Women should be forced to continue with pregnancies regardless of their wishes and the potential consequences".

"I have more of a say than a pregnant woman does".

"Women aren't to be trusted, best to keep abortion banned".

"No suicide clause, women will just make it up".

"Let's just keep pretending Ireland is abortion free and collectively bury our heads in the sand".

    - Because England is willing to murder others, as long as they are, people will go that way.

    - Birth has nothing to do with life.

    - You can only control what goes on in your back yard; a harsh reality of life.

    - Once a man is married, his life is forfeit.

    - You can get AIDS/HIV by crazed people brandishing syringes in bus's or pick up a terminal disease/complication suddenly without warning; not everything has a cure so you are just going to have to accept it.

    - If the current government system has anything to do with it, yes, because otherwise insane, murderous tyrants who wish to destroy life will turn the state into a self-destructive entity. We only wish to repay the care the state has shown us, instead of leading it to its death.

    - Agenda's like the murderous abortion one being proposed here will feed highly fearing and impressionable women; with no faith or direction, who feel like they have no where to turn. Why? Because fear and murder are the two best bedfellows.

    - No, people who push for abortion will make it up, and women in those situations will just lap it up and be victims of their own insecurity. Might even send a few poor women to a life sentence for their trust.

    - I wish it were, and that is the direction!

Tell that to the folks who are looking to go abroad to help others end their lives. We seem to have no problem threatening them with prosecution on their return.

And a meteor could strike the planet one day and kill us all in a massive fireball. Ergo, we shouldn't do what's best for our health in case said meteor is imminent?

Birth has nothing to do with life? Could you expand on that please, because it doesn't make any sense to me.

    - You can only control what goes on in your back yard; a harsh reality of life.
You could try to control women leaving your back yard, as happened in the X case. Do you support restricting women from travelling abroad to have abortions? If not, why not?

Apparently, the bishops believe that the government isn't required to legislate following the X case.

Well, Cardinal Brady believes he wasn't required to inform the police of paedophile priests. At least that's not a case of cognitive dissonance.

Bishops are notoriously bad at computer games. Only way they can play is by cheating and using God Mode.

anybody watch the RTE 6 o'clock news today. Dobson was interviewing some priest dude in relation to the abortion legislation. The priest seemed nice, but superb at not answering direct questions.

I thought it was a pretty poor show. I don't know why interviewers aren't harder on that kind of tactic. It just made Dobson look bad. I don't even mean this one time, he does it all the time, he's an awful interviewer.

I can't help feeling that these women would be less fearful and impressionable if they didn't have a religious right telling them that they're sinful for having sex, and that they're going to hell for not wanting to have the baby. The only people trying to frighten these women are the religious right.

    From the bishop's statement:

"Every human life is precious, every human life is beautiful, every human life is sacred."

So why doesn't the RCC use its huge wealth to do something to protect all that precious human life - like feed the many millions of starving children around the world perhaps?

    Sanctimonious hypocrites.
