Hi there I was just wondering if you earned less then 5,000 and you are independent applicant but not in receipt of any benefits would I be entitled to the special rate grant- as i am really struggling thanks

You may not be eligible for the top up rate as it does specify that you need to be getting one of the DSP payments listed here: http://www.studentfinance.ie/downloads/1341503130/schedule2.pdf

You could double check with SUSI maybe.
