Eircom Modem with limited wifi

Hi, We recently got an eircom phone and internet connection but have found that once we leave the room that the modem is in the wifi connection disappears. This means we can't use the internet anwhere outside of the one room - kinda deveats the purpose of wifi. Has anyone else experienced this or perhaps have a solution to…

Crappy Modem and really thick walls. Have you got a second modem to test is the first at fault ? or even better extend your wi fi using the second router, depends if you have a spare though.
