    Firstly I hate these fuse holders , but what else is wrong with these pictures ....

    Is it the ceramic fuse is soldered and I think it should be a glass fuse in there?

    The owner had put a patch wire in the fuse holder and bypassed the need for the fuse.

    Is there a prize for the right answer?

    It's solder alright!!... Tidy job too I must say.. Didn't melt the plastic :)

    I have only ever seen glass fuses in these too.
    Plus the thick-ish oldering .... do we win a paperclip to replace a the next blown fuse?

    Good tip .... I like it.... must solder all my blown fuses from now on...

    Should this thread not be in Aidan's tips or perhaps in the thrift section of boards? :rolleyes:

    No , the glass fuses take a different holder.

    That looks like an post- production add-on in a modern vehicle. Was it potentially circumnavigating the problem of having two fuses on the same live?

    That looks like solder, but is it perhaps a 40 amp fuse? That red wire should be fused at 10 amps imo. Blue fuses are 25 light blue or 40 dark blue.
