How long to transfer money?

    Hi, Just wondering how long it takes to transfer money from a BOI to an AIB account through online banking.

    Under the European Payment Services Regulations 2009 banks must ensure that payments made before the daily cut-off (approx 3PM) must be in the beneficairy account on the next business day. Payments made after the cutoff will be a day later.

    Hi thisisadamh,

    If the payment is requested before the 3.30pm cut off, it will be with AIB the following working day. AIB would then apply the money to the payee's account.

    Hi thisisadamh,

    Swampy is correct. A transfer from one Bank of Ireland Account to another Bank of Ireland Current Account will go through immediately.
