New Liverpool loan signing Nuri Sahin is ineligible for the Europa League qualifying round play-off second leg.
The Reds have lost midfielder Lucas after the Brazilian was ruled out for up to three months with a thigh injury.
Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas has been troubled by a thigh injury but has been training and hopes to feature.
Goalkeeper Peter Enckleman, who is still to make his debut for the club, is doubtful with a shoulder injury.
The visitors have no other selection worries as they bid to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the from the first leg.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has promised to field a strong side
Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and Luis Suarez were among those rested for the trip to Edinburgh.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "It is easier when you have two home games. With the travel in that last week and the recovery process, it is easier to go Thursday-Sunday with a reasonably strong side.
"We'll be strong. We're looking to win the game and keep the momentum going.
"Our performance levels at the weekend were excellent and we want to just keep that going forward."
Hearts manager John McGlynn: "This is a big game, a big stage and an opportunity for players to show what they can do.

Different type of box, it uses the Internet so it's basically like streaming but with all the stations sky have. Fairly savage like.
