    i would look for a reset button at back somewhere anyhow
    i think they prob have them

    Yup, found the reset button on the back of the thermostat this evening.

    Had to order a new heating element anyway because I accidentally damaged the core that supports the metal element when disassembling to fix the original problem with the motor, but it was good to figure out the source of the heating problem and confirm the element was actually fine.

    Ah well, at least I know for next time.
