Hello all, I am graduating this year and looks like the chances of getting quantity surveying work will be very slim here at home. I dont realy fancy heading to oz to be honest as id rather be close to home.

Are there any QS's here that can advise me on my propects of gaining work anywhere in the uk? Hoping to get a couple years experience before heading to Canada

    Hi ,

Things were quiet enough around manchester the past few months but are really kicking off now. Theres seriously not enough hours in the day now between my q.s and project management roles. Manchester is a good town to work in but tbh its all about building connections. Gaa lads are well received and also if you know anyone over here already its a godsend. Im lucky enough that i slotted into the family company just as i left college so have had somewhat of a easy time getting in on work. But over here there are no 9-5 jobs. You are realistically expected to graft your b******s off every day and put in the hours. If you want to drop me a pm detailing your experience i can reccomend a few companies to send c.v's too. Also if you want any advice on moving over id be more than happy to help and show ya round town etc etc

I have been calling recruitment agencies applying for jobs online but had no luck so far. Im finding the recruitment agencies not very helpful. any advice or contacts really want to move over
