    Doing some work on 15 year old VW and noticed flaking paint caused by rust on components where I have never seen before on an Irish use car, the items are: callipers, shocks, nuts, bolts, exhaust and other brackets. I suspect this is caused by the use of salt for de-icing roads. This is a relatively new phenomenon in Ireland and I have only seen this before on UK cars.
