Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ear started buzzing and now its all weird like I'm partially deaf or something. I tried the old hold you nose and blow trick but I nearly passed out, my nose started to bleed and I'm still deaf. So that was a no go.

    Anyone any other ideas ?

Have you considered performing some old-fashioned home surgery?

Horses get something similar; nosebleed, inner ear trouble.

Do human beings have gutteral pouches?

Something something gutteral pouch, if we do.

Do you have a cold at the moment? Sometimes when sinuses get blocked it can make you slightly deaf.

I suppose going to the doctor would be a ridiculous suggestion here...

This early into the thread - yes, yes it is. At least wait until people are egging him on to jump through a window.

Its only the one ear. If I'm still deaf after the weekend I might pop in just in case.

Could be (hopefully) just a build up of wax.

I agree, there is a very very small chance its only ear wax, its far far more likely that the OP is terminally ill... poor man.

Can't suggest medial procedure advice (board.ie rules) but an internet search might help. :)

Getting a blocked ear syringed is great, you feel brilliant coming out of the doctors with your ear clear again.

Oh dear lord, go to the doctor, it's very possible wax in the ear, but just go to the doctor, and stop asking AH, for medical advice, you will end up with a toe cut off, to sort out an ear problem. :)

Clear up some now from jamming the little finger in and wiggling it about while holding my head at an angle.

I might have to look into getting them hosed out though. Cant be good if your going deaf every so often out of the blue.

Ears starting popping yesturday at work.as in on the ascent of an aircraft...was really weird talking to people..went away after a while .think I have experienced the buzzing as well..i think its maybe related to air pressure changes?

Nope. Cant swim. Did have a shower recently though where a bit of water got in there !! Must be four days ago though. Surely would have dried out in that length of time.

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ask the internet for medical advice.

Don't worry when you lose your ears people with wooden ears can lead productive lives.

Shower more often, you haven't cleaned your ears properly.

Then again when you go to a doctor what do they be typing ? I'll wager they are on doctor.com looking up symptoms.

Right, you're going to need a pillow, some tissues, a corkscrew and a 'can-do' attitude.
