Hope this is the right place When i log onto boards, in the address bar, berfore the website add there is the symbol of a blank page, if i click on it i get "your connection to boards.ie is not encrypted". I assume this is a bad thing ? , i get it on other sites too but not facebook open 24.

add "https://" to the front of the url. That'll encrypt the page.

Reason you're seeing the problem in the first place is that you don't specify a secure connection. (it's just www.)

It's not necessarily a bad thing. Seeing as you're not giving out overly sensitive info on this site (credit card details etc). Facebook almost always forces a https connection hence why you notice it
