Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RVP was Utd's best player by a mile. Southampton went through Utd's midfield too easily, and the fact the midfield situation wasn't addressed during the window will see them miss out on the major trophies imo. RVP is a true world class player though, and he will win games for Utd the way Ronaldo used to.

United need to buck up big time, RVP wil only bail them out perhaps 20 more times this season

There was plenty, never understood it myself. Sure the midfield was the priority, or should have been, but RVP is top class.

Have to improve some amount though.

Cant have RVP saving us every week.

Just relief now that we got out of jail.

Well at least this this week might finally put a stop to the Pananka penalties. It wasn't as costly as Udinese's miss but it's a stupid needless risk.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

That was just pure cruelty on Southampton, although in fairness you did kind of expect it to happen. I felt a draw may even have been a harsh result but Southampton should have taken their chances when they had them earlier on in the game.

I'm sure united fans won't care which way a win come though all the same ;)

    Mad stat

85 - Man Utd won a PL game they were losing with five minutes remaining for the first time since April 1993 (vs Sheff Wed). Drama

That is a mad stat. They seem to do it every 5 games or so.

    Yeah, you are dead right.

    Everton 1 - 0 utd

Look at that game again and tell me Everton didn't completely sh*t themselves and stick their whole team in their own third for the last 20 minutes!

Blackpool did it a couple of seasons ago, Spurs come to mind too.

Outplay them, and them let them attack???

Not going to complain too much though, made a load of cash from United Draw no bet when they go behind :)
    Got it at 11/4 today!

sounds mad when you consider the comebacks we have done over years. I cant think of any in League though so could be well right.

    Just seems bit crazy too.

Poor United performance especially from midfield, get out of jail card used today, Southampton while playing well for most of the game really did them selves no favours in the last 15 minutes.

The thread was quiet in general i thought. There was something like only 4 pages after over an hour's play.

A hell of a lot of people said that we didn't need Van Persie.

At the end of the day goals win games. Van Persie = more goals. When you are talking about someone with as much talent I personally think it is as simple as that.
We just couldn't afford to turn him down. And of course we couldn't afford to let City get their hands on him.

Look back to when we were 2-1 down and RVP missed his pen. We saw people creeping in as usual. All fun to look at now

Yes I agree the performance seems to have papered the dire performance.

No Man City or Chelsea player or fan will be bricking it if United play like that for much of the season.

We won, but let's not kid ourselves, we got out of it. Luckily, none of our rivals are currently looking like they are going to take a significant step up next year, so it's not the end of the world.

Really need something magical to happen with Fletcher.

Here you go, perfect for a Sunday,

    yorkshire pudding's,

    1. Heat oven to 230C/fan 210C/gas 8. Drizzle a little sunflower oil evenly into 2 x 4-hole Yorkshire pudding tins or a 12-hole non-stick muffin tin and place in the oven to heat through.

    2. To make the batter, tip 140g plain flour into a bowl and beat in four eggs until smooth. Gradually add 200ml milk and carry on beating until the mix is completely lump-free. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the batter into a jug, then remove the hot tins from the oven. Carefully and evenly pour the batter into the holes. Place the tins back in the oven and leave undisturbed for 20-25 mins until the puddings have puffed up and browned. Serve immediately. You can now cool them and freeze for up to 1 month.

At least something good will come out of that awful match.

In the oven this minute, nicely browning.

Hoping they will take the sour taste outta my mouth.

Congrats Flah. Not like you never had sly digs or played the WUM in the past. No siree.

Unlike perhaps others here today. I wasn't trolling. He fully deserved the comment after messing about with the penalty in a critical moment in the game. Whether you want to admit it or not, I couldn't really give a damn to be brutally honest, you's got away with one today, and fair play for doing so. Southampton were well deserving of a point though. Nice of you not the quote the following comment though.

Again today if proof was needed Evra is a liability & the hype for the last 18 months about Cleverley is just that hype. Seems to me we will only ever sign a top class midfielder will be post Ferguson.
