I am wondering if money for a laptop computer is provided to you as part of SFI funding, I am starting it soon enough but there are some good deals at the moment so i'm not sure if I should wait or not to get one. Has anybody who has done a phd funded by SFI be able to tell me if they got given a laptop.

Hey Fungi. I don't think so at least not as standard.

I'm doing an SFI funded PhD and I didn't get one.

It's pretty much up to your professor.

Did you get your funding straight through your professor or was it an SFI grant you got yourself?

I got the funding through a professor, best thing to do is just ask about it. Thanks.
