Oh my God, that's brilliant, I'm weak laughing at that image, poor kid.
Bring her to visit my house and watch her freak... I'm sure that's verging on child abuse.
I have friends who wouldn't visit if they knew about the 'situation' here!

Any insectlike problem here is usually sorted out by the cat. If it gets too much for the can an elite team of hens is on standby.

Ah, I thought she was a smallie.
I have a friend who went for hypnotherapy to get over her arachnophobia, it kinda worked, I think.

And what is it that a cat would do to sort out my little spider issue?

Munchy crunchy. Granted, any spider above skirting height is safe, but the floor may as well be made of lava.

Well, in my case I think it's save to say approximately 99.9% of the spiders currently residing in my humble abode are above skirting level, thus rendering a cat redundant!

Yep, can't believe I'm saying this but I got a bit educated by a spider expert over the summer and have got to the stage where I no longer go into fight/flight mode as soon as I see a spider.

As someone else says, it's mating season so that's why you're seeing them. They are there all the time though . . .

What you need are a few decent bats. That'll sort 'em.

It's been going on for weeks, sick of them. Usually they don't bother me, but there are so many of the feckers. Woke up in the wee hours of the morning and found I was sharing my pillow with a HUGE spider,
not the greatest thing to open your eyes to!
How do you think the spider felt,he/she looking at you with 8 eyes :)

I'm pretty sure that one didn't feel nearly as bad as it's family member who was sharing my shower, not sure if me or the spider got the bigger shock!

In that case there are currently about 47,294,935 spiders running around in the hall cupboard.

Have you considered leaving a stale ham sandwich out on the table to attract more flies OP? Maybe the spiders will become overfed, lethargic and complacent.

Or you may end up with a fly and spider problem....

.... and be down a ham sandwich.

I have nothing to offer to this thread.

Tried this method on a few blue bottles, its quite effective except when the feckers catch on fire and become kamikaze fighters hell bent on burning your house to the ground.

Well i dunno i got it in the local hardware shop where i live in Dublin ive no idea if they would have it where you are.
    Maybe something similar.

I have read that they dont like citrus or natural oils or sprays like lavender.

Thing is with spiders though is they have no sense of smell so they would have to walk over the spray to actually know its there!!

I now have an image of all these spiders walking towards my windows and then very quickly running into my house.

The reason there out now more then usual is cause its mating season August September time. Its mostly the giant house spiders that are in your house this time of year so they dont come from out side there in there probley all year u just dont see them cause they dont appear.

I get problems with them every year around this time since i moved a bit out of the city. And the sprays and citrus/lavender seem to help me anyway.

Ok, so if these dudes don't come in from outside, where should I spray the citrus/lavender stuff???

Oh I'm going to have a fantastic smelling house after all this. I may not have anymore spiders, but I may be dead as a result of an asthma attack induced by loads of spray things!!!
If I'm not back you will know why!
