    Hi,

I got a number of sets of annual flower seeds. If I plant them now will they grow soon or would it not be until next spring?

Is there any flowers that would grow within a month or so?

    Thanks

Some you can, if they are things that tend to re-seed themselves anyway - poppies, nasturtiums (took 4 goes to spell that! :)) snapdragons, can't think of any more off hand - you would probably be ok. Others that need a bit of heat to germinate - busy lizzies come to mind, they would probably just rot/die in the cold.

It may tell you on the packets if they can be sowed in autumn, you need to say what they are though for more helpful information.

I dont think there is anything that would grow in a month. Suttons have a range of 'Speedy' seeds of varieties that will flower in 6-8 weeks but that would be with spring sown. Maybe this year pick up some plug plants like violas, pansies, cyclamen, Primrose.
Once again, Aldi to the rescue ...

I'd keep your seeds till next year and start sowing according to the timing instructions on the packet. But check the best before date!

Good range of stuff coming up in Lidl from Thursday too - http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_ri_ie/hs.xsl/24223.htm
Picked up a few Cyclamen there at the weekend that look and smell lovely too, was about 1.50 a pot I think, might be worth grabbing a few if you are near one.
