renting in carlow

so im on the lookout for a place to rent at the minute, i must admit im surprised that prices have remained so high, i know people say that's because of the college, im not so sure about that, seems to me if you go through daft or the other sites that the same houses seem to be constantly on it, the last town i lived in was 100 to 150 cheaper for a similar sized place, any opinions?

What type of house are you looking for ? and what are you willing to pay ?

2 bed and to be honest i don't want to go over the 500 mark, there are a few places around this price but most seem to be vastly over priced

Not many properties for circa 500 on daft, most that are seem to be up on the Tullow Rd area.

Mind you the same house is listed 3 times but avoid........................

seen them ones alright. there is one just outside of town i have my eye on must follow it up, i know where to avoid thankfully:)

You mentioned that some of the properties seem to have been advertised for some time. Why not call the agent/landlord and make an offer ? You never know your luck, and the worst they can say is no.

Hi,

I'm moving to Carlow next week to work for 6 months. I live in Dublin so I'll be looking for a room for 3-4 nights per week max.

I would be a very low maintenance tenant for anyone that has an extra bed.

Don't want to pay more than 40 per week.

Please let me know if this suits anyone

managed to find a place anyway for slightly less than i had expected in a very good area
