    Just seen it announced on Tickets.ie facebook page http://www.facebook.com/tickets.ie that Rodriguez is playing the Button Factory in November.

    If you don't know his story it's definitely worth a read, a documentary has just been released about it. http://sugarman.org/. Basically he recorded 2 albums in the 70s and then disappeared into obscurity. His albums became legendary in South Africa and Australia but he was presumed/rumoured to be dead. He was finally tracked down in Detroit in the late 90s and is now back gigging. He played Whelan's in 2009 and was fantastic, sounded exactly the same as he did in the early 70s. Check out his album 'Cold Fact', certainly one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
