Freddie Mercury: September 5th - Freddie for a Day - Aged 66

04-09-2012 8:12pm#1OK, so just so you're aware, tomorrow (Sep 5th) would have been Freddie Mercury's 66th birthday. I know some people complain about celebrating birthdays for dead artists but in this case, much more important, the Mercury Trust (an AIDS charity set up after Freddie's death) holds a special event called 'Freddie for a Day' in which you're encouraged to dress up as Freddie and get involved in celebrating his music and his life.
There has also been a special re-release this week of his 1987 solo album Barcelona, the bonus version of which includes a DVD, demos CD and the fully orchestrated and remixed album version. A fantastic piece.
On top of all this, Freddie has been made an honorary Angry Bird with his own special video...which you can check out below....

Bill Shankly would have been 99 on Sunday and Freddie would have been 66 today.
