Does anyone know of any for a reasonable price?
I know it can be done ourselves but my boss is considering getting an agent if it saves him the hassle of doing it.
Anyway i keep getting quoted $4000+ (not including visa costs), just seems very steep, are these the costs i'll get everywhere or did anyone get an agent a little cheaper.

    Thanks

You don't necessarily have to be in the same state as the Agent so feel free to look into costs in other states.

Generally you are looking at $5k for the whole thing.

Only suggestion I can make is that you get all of the paperwork done yourself (to the best of your knowledge of course) then ask an Agent for a price to review and lodge. Still going to be extortionate (Migration Agents & Dentists are scandalous over here!) but maybe not at the $4k mark!

Your boss doesn't want the hassle of doing it himself but is the fee being passed to you?
If not, why does the fee matter, you might get it for $3k but not much less.
If you are paying the fee, why not offer to do it yourself?

Yeah you don't need to be in the same state, you rarely ever need face to face contact. (I was in Sydney and agent was Brisbane)
Liz O'Hagan (http://www.australianvisaspecialists.com/) has been used many times by boards users, and takes time out to answer questions on the Sticky

I telephoned Australian Immigration today to clarify fees.
These are listed on document 990i (apparently)

    Employer sponsor application: AUS $420
    Employer nomination application AUS $85
Visa applicant (prospective employee) GBP £240

Time frame: 20 days for each stage but you can do it all at once, if you have everything ready to roll.

Do-it-yourself: I note CarlowPerth did it all himself according to another forum discussion posting, I presume he did the bits for the employer too. I presume he completed this in Australia with all the details provided by the employer. Might be more difficult outside the country?

I was seeking a user friendly agent as well, thank you Hussey for the details supplied.

Health check: separate question, does anyone know if you can use your medical for more than one visa at a time? I am in the process of arranging spouse sponsorship for my husband however have been advised it takes 8-9 months. The immigration officer suggested he use a 457 in the meantime as he has an active job offer and is a CSOL shortage occupation, so just wondering if the medical can be recycled?

    Hi Noo,

As a registered migration agent, I deal with these applications all the time and our fees you are quoted seem crazy.
Our fees are approx half those you have been quoted of AUD 4000 for the exact same service !

The guys on this thread are right - you can lodge it yourself if you are confident in what you are doing or you can use an agent who doesn't need to be in the same state or even the same country to sort out your applciation. If you can scan the required documents - its that simple. No originals needed for this visa applciation as it can be lodged online.

There are documents required from you naturally and also from the employer to secure his sponsorship approval and job nomination.
He or his accountant or office manager will need to pull together the required documents for that part of the applciation - such as financials so there will be some effort required on his part.

You can PM me if you want to arrange a free no obligation assessment on your applciation and our fixed all-in price promise.

    Hope this helps,

    Kind Regards,
    Declan
