hi, in process of getting sliding gate to house (with curved top rail probably 1.3m at outsides rising to 1.5m in centre). Pillars already in place and ope 4.15m. I am getting some costs for galvanised and powder coated metal gate (preferred) and just couple of queries to any experts or experienced out their.

Regards automation and from some research seems FAAC, CAME, NICE good brands for motor etc any in particular to avoid? should I get a nylon rack (or is it steel core and nylon coating?) or galvanised rack or just standard steel? seen somewhere nylon typically only used for wood gates but planning on metal gate so weight may be issue? but believe much quiter etc.

As young kids looking at getting a safety edge on gate also - any do's and donts here eg wireless, standard or induction control, brands? what about associated problems (robustness) and effectiveness eg respnse time to activate or failsafes?

Is their any rule of thumb to estimate the weight of the gate for sizing the motor?

Any other adivice on what to include or not as case eg battery back up incl charger for motor, controls ?

Lastly any guide price for above sliding gate and automation and installation? have seen some older threads and mention of 1/3 rule but not sure if allow for current climate?
