supplementary welfare

apologies if wrong section

ive started a VTOS course today
turns out ive been on supplementary welfare for the last 9 months
im now not eliglible for the VTOS scheme, because supplementary welfare doesnt qualify
the lad in the in the social welfare office tells me there is nothing i can do ?
is there any help for me or do i "fall through the cracks"?

Are you on Supplementary Welfare Allowance while waiting on another payment?

i was been paid by the CWO
id always presumed i was on illness or benefit allowance
i dont understand why im on the supplementary for 9 months???

Supplementary is a payment you receive while waiting on an appeal, while waiting for your claim to be decided or if you are or if you have a claim for illness benefit but do not meet the contribution criteria. Are you appealing something or just waiting 9 months?

that has never been cleared up
so im presuming im just waiting 9 months
im going into office in the morning ,have i a leg to stand on ?

It depends.

If you are waiting on a decision, then time spent waiting can count for VTOS. Best go in and check the status of the payment you're waiting on.
