According to Fingal County Council website

    Thursday 6th September 2012 : 14.00 :

Swords Area: A burst has occurred on the 30" watermain along the Forest Road, Swords. Repair work has commenced. As soon as excavation reaches a level close to the 30" watermain the water will be turned off. All areas will be alternatively supplied except Boroimhe, Ridgewood and higher areas of Rivervalley. Forest Little Golf Club will also have water loss. Water will remain off overnight while repair work is ongoing. It is expected to have work completed by Friday evening.
Water tankers will be provided for the duration of the works to facilitate consumers who are without water. Please note all water taken from tankers should be boiled prior to use
Location of tankers: Tesco Ridgewood, Shopping Centre Boroimhe, Forest Little Golf Club.
Water Services will do everything possible to expedite this work. We apologise in advance to consumers who will be affected by this outage.

Ours didn't go off afterwards but it probably will today.
    Update:

    Thursday 6th September 2012 : 23.45
Swords Area: Dirty Water Warning As a result of the works on the repair to the 30" watermain on Forest Road some dirt may have gotten in to the water supply network. This may result in a discolouration to the water for a time. Consumers are advised to run taps until water runs clear. This should occur after a short while. Please do not use this water for drinking, cooking etc. until it runs clear. Because of the volume of water that has to be pumped out of the pipe, work has been suspended until morning. It is anticipated, barring unexpected complications, that the repair will be completed within the timeframe already given.

Seriously fed up with the constant water main bursts in Swords. Seems no length of time since the last one. Always hearing the Council bleating on about upgrading the system. Another burst today on Dublin Road, website says water back by 3. Only thing is which 3 ( heavy sarcasm!!! )

Here we go again, water mains burst yesterday on Forest rd near Lord Mayors. No water for most of the day. Guess what?? same again today, another burst, this time on Dublin Rd. No words to describe how frustrated people are with the situation. If Fingal Co Co were even slightly bothered, they would organise for contractors to carry out a proper job and not the usual patch up paddy me arse effort.

They're laying a new mains on the R132.

Thanks, you can't really miss all the Sierra Construction equipment. However the fact that they're laying water mains on the R132 at the moment does'nt explain the massive amount of bursts in the same area over the years. And further to my contribution yesterday, yet ANOTHER burst this morning, the third this week, all bursts in different locations. Headmelting!!
