Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who does Dustin & Zig & Zag

Wiki tells me Zig & Zag/Podge & Rodge are done by Mick O'Hara and Ciaran Morrison.
Dustin is done by John Morrison, brother of the above.

How come there are no photos or videos online of the puppeteers ?.
Do they spend money having themselves ungoogled ?.

Anyone have any other info ?.

Why would there be photos? They don't court the spotlight and are probably pretty happy in that they get to do quite well but not have to put up with people approaching them on the street.

Because the puppets are famous not the people who operate them.

They were more famous as Zig and Zag than as Podge and Rodge so your comment makes no sense.

Also they are still doing Zig and Zag.

A whole thread of puppets from the Den and no one mentions Snotser yet, for shame. That pig was deadly.

When Podge first arrived he was operated by Zag in a pst modernist type Approach whereby one puppet (Zag) was the puppet master for the other (Pdge) without realising that Podge was capable of operating himself; Dempsey's Den was truly ahead of its time! Rodge is simply a fill in to make the late night show a two hander.

Possibly the best things RTÉ have ever done are the puppets. PC brigade ruined it all though, Dustin lost his edge as time went on because of all the complaints.

The morbegs and poor socky haven't had a mention. :(

    What nonsense. All the complaints?

There was never a rake of complaints against them. Dustin lost his edge because Zig and Zag left and he had nobody to bounce things off any more and nobody to come up with ideas for him.

Pc brigade complained? - who complained and what did they complain about?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Certainly did. I vaguely remember him popping up as a crooked copper from the "Back Yard" after one of Podge's capers when kablooey and he was nabbed by Dustin and the gang. Rodge's deception allowed the gruesome twosome to slip away quite neatly. ;)

The Podge / Zig's imagination thing was classic tv.
