what do I have to do to my iphone before I sell it

Im 5 months into a 24 month contract and im thinking of selling it and using the cash to contribute to paying off my contract, I was wondering what I have to get done to my phone before I sell it so the new user isnt running up my a bill for me, also how much would I get for the iphone 4s now?

Take the sim card out to stop him running up a bill! Also make a factory reset (wipes all data).
