Confusion with broadband speeds

    Hi all,

I've been looking around for the various ISP's in Jordan and I was confused when I saw some of them with high speed broadbands that cost less than those who provide lower speed.

1- Orange provides 24mbps broadband .. Whats the minimum possible speed I'd get with this? and will it be faster at night (off peak)? Is this Wimax?
    http://www.orange.jo/sites/residential/English/InternetSite/Pages/NewADSLLine.aspx

2- Mada provides 5mbps and they say its coverage depends on "Wimax technology" does that mean I won't be getting the full speed? if so whats the minimum possible speed I'd get?
    http://www.mada.jo/Home/Plans

3- Umniah/tedata two companies provide 3mbps/4mbps that requires a line.

All my concern here is the speed I'd get and nothing else. Which one of the above three would give me the fastest possible speed?
Will the 24mbps or the 5mbps Wimax be faster than the 4 mbps?

I'd really appreciate if someone goes through the links and help me understand the differences.
Moving from Dublin to Jordan sucks in terms of internet services :p

    Thank you ..

option 1 short answer. speeds would be ~2Mb/s download. so thats a song in 1.5 seconds for example.
will stream HD content no issues. its pretty much the same speed as upc offer in ireland on their lowest speed which is high enough for pretty much anyone. up to 5-6 people using it at once no issues generally.

wimax means by wireless (satellite or antenna).. so if you are in a hard tor each area it probably will be slower. imagine it like your phone. some places you have good signal, others are poor. if you are in a good area its grand.
generally people resort to this setup when they cant get adsl or the setup in option 1.

option 3 is probably just slower version of option 1.

the only thing is availability of option 1. thats the limiting factor there.
