Im quite surprised myself sunday is sold out and its near a full sell out. Myself & my mate took a spin over yesterday evening to get a look at what was done etc. the usual annual messin in the weeks up to it

We went all around the side roads etc, in the family campsite entrance & then in the production entrance for a gander and the only tent visible was this yellow & blue striped tent which for some reason I cant remember seein any other year. This looked big enough but looked very close down towards that side of the field than usual so maybe the rumours of a new layout are true

I wonder if that means there's still time to do number 4 on this list of EP:

That bread method was something I came up with for Castlepalooza years ago. Someone squealed... ruined now its out in the public. :(

Don't mention any more methods of sneaking alcohol. I have a couple in the works.

Philip King worth going to see. He was guest speaker at American Chamber of Commerce 4 th July lunch. One of those bizarre times when my professional life and my real life intersected, (other being seeing Chic performing at Sap conference in Paris 2005!)

King was suberbly engaging and then sung Factory Girl at the end to an audience who were initially bemused but then won over.

Haven't seen them for sale in Ireland but Argos do something similar to a camel pack for about €17. Two of the lads used them last year and it served them well!

She is fantastic! I only have a few must sees for the Picnic this year, and Kate Tempest is one of them. The others are Arctic Monkeys and King Kong Company. No doubt will come back from the picnic with a few new favourite bands, like I do every year.

Really surprised at the interest in the Picnic. Thought this year was going to be dead in the water, but Sunday tickets selling out and cheap tickets on adverts/donedeal/toutless being snapped up as soon as they are advertised tells me this year might be one of the best Picnic's in a while........

Don't think the bread would work at the picnic? The sunscreen bottle is a good one, although they might be a bit suss if its lashing rain :)

They just put them on under their tshirt and hoody/jacket. Prob best to wear it on your front till you get in if you don't have too many layers!

Are security checks strict going in? Sniffer dogs? ETC

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 500 ✭✭✭kevc2

I'd advise against the camel packs, brought one to life festival and was completely hammered the whole time. It's too easy to get pissed with a load of vodka on your back.

It depends on the security guy checking you. One guy waved is through without checking anything. Second time coming through got a different guy and was very thorough. Didn't see any dogs over the whole picnic last year.

Say you somehow got in to EP arena beforehand and managed to dig a hole, how would you remember where it was? Wouldn't you be nabbed when you went to dig it up? :S

Mad that Sunday tickets are sold out - when was the last time that happened this far in advance? (I know it's just over a week but would still imagine it's been a few years). Jim Carroll was predicting a few weeks ago that it'd be close to selling out and thought he was being overly optimistic!

It was Jim Carroll writing about it that made me get off my ass and buy the tickets. Glad I did that now

A bit too trusting of her sure but then again it's the guy that scammed her that's completely at fault. Think anything aside from exchanging cash for tickets in person can be dodgy.
