I will concede in September after the even has finished.

Didnt you concede the other night against Montenegro??

That is because there is so little interest. The EP forum is dead.

That forum has never had much traffic anyway. Most people generally decide on EP a month before it happens. If the opposite were true then why would they bother advertising it all the way up to the start date?

Online chatter is a good proxy for real life buzz.

Actually, all you've shown there is two things:

1 - There's lots of online chatter at the launch and around the event (March/April and August)
2 - It's pretty much dead outside those times.

Depeche Mode are touring a new album year, they'd be a likely addition.

    Very unlikely.

Given that they won't play a single back to back pair of nights on the whole tour, and the only possible space for them to play would be Fri 30th Aug I cant see it happening.

Here's their North American 2013 schedule around that time.

    Aug. 24: Chicago

    Aug. 27: St. Paul

    Sept. 1: Toronto

    Sept. 3: Montreal

    Sept. 6: Brooklyn, N.Y.

    Sept. 8: Wantagh, N.Y.

Probably more likely that Oxegen will get DM.

@vinylbomb Ah, didn't know that, pity, the new tune is decent.

@bodhrandude Last I heard about Oxegen was that it's gonna be all EDM, I'd imagine it'll be a similar lineup to creamfields if that's the case, Prodigy etc. It'll be a serious '**** You' to the Gardaí if they get Knife Party to play, given the whole stabbing thing at 'Electric' music festivals.

Ceamfields lineup is solid, Would be nice if Oxegen got some of them.
Some class acts such as Eric Prydz, Laid back luke, Paul van dyk and Hardwell.
But I hope Oxegen is not fully EDM because it's nice to have a mix.

What's so funny? This is still not happening.

I'll gladly put up 100 bet with you for charity that it does go ahead.

    Ok.
It has to be a minimum of two nights and it has to involve general camping.

haha I thought you were 100% sure it wasn't going ahead? Why the need for stipulations so?

    I'm ok with that.

So two nights at a minimum and the option to camp?

No losers here, I'll gladly pay up if I'm wrong.

Loser pays out in September to allow for cancellations.

Anyone watching the Saturday night show? Could the delay be due to them getting Bowie? Ok I'm living in hope... but that would sell it out.

Is this when the "its cancelled again" rumours start :pac:

Seems like they're messing people about at this stage though.. No early bird tickets, no official announcement explaining that they weren't going on sale, tickets and line-up were due out in March and now it's supposed to be April 15th..

I'm slowly starting to edge back to my "it's cancelled" mindset.

All life long the same questions, the same answers
Finished, it's finished, nearly finished, it must be nearly finished.
And yet I hesitate, I hesitate to…to end. Yes, there it is, it's time it ended and yes I hesitate to—
    (he yawns)
    —to end.

Here is a bit more on the Sunday Times report, saw this in the EP thread at the Peoples Republic of Cork music forum. "The Sunday Times reporting today that John Reynolds is due to launch a court bid next week to regain control of Electric Picnic." http://www.peoplesrepublicofcork.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214705&page=5 Apparently MCD, or that half of EP wants to announce on the 15th, I presume that Reynolds is probably seeking an injuction against it. I hope the festival goes ahead anyway.

I give up. I truly do.

    For me:
    Aphex Twin
    The Knife
    Portishead
Linton Kwesi Johnson and his band or Sly & Robbie
    My Bloody Valentine
    Depeche Mode
    Reid
    Chic
    Daft Punk

I just hope it happens in general though regardless of the line up.
