Is it true you cannot go to any college if you do foundation Irish or maths?:(

Depends, some colleges require pass maths at least, while others like ITT and ITB will except foundation level. Most colleges will require a just a ordinary level pass in either Irish or English, but definitely check carefully as some do want Irish.

Which college/s did you have in mind? :)

Short answer, no it's not true.
You can go to college without a Leaving Cert. at all.

Longer answer, you have many more options if you can do at least Maths at Ordinary level.

As Whatsernamex33 said, it depends on the course you want.

As far as im aware they are a requriement for most collages but not the IT courses. You have to think about it practically, if your struggling and it's easier to manage at foundation then its probably the better choice.Just remember it's not where you start off but where the raod leads you that matters. :)

TCD has a general matriculation requirement for maths; foundation level satisfies it.

The NUI colleges require maths for some faculties but not all. In faculties for which it IS required, foundation level does NOT satisfy the requirement.

Anyone born outside Ireland is exempt from Irish for NUI matriculation purposes (even if not exempt from the Department's requirement).

The IOTs tend to vary too much to make sweeping statements about what you need.

I'd suggest that you think about what kinds of courses you might be interested in before you make a decision. Try to stay at ordinary in both until you've checked out the implications.
