Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ponders End in London. Always liked the name.

How about "The Lonesome Depot" in south London?

Wasn't sure I had the name correct as it sounded like someplace from a western, then I get there to find it by chance home to a huge Gipsy encampment complete with kids having horse races on the streets. A surreal backwater.

Always thought Chapelizod was a wierd name, like it should be something you take for athletes foot or something.

I'd imagine Ballymuns name didn't do too much for the areas already dodgy image.

Misery Hill in Dublin: Corpses of those executed were strung up to rot here as a warning to would be criminals. A 12th century leper hospice was also located here. :P

Who is Ossory and why is Borris always in him/her?

I always wonder how "Na Glasáin" became "Windy Arbour" in Dublin (14?).

A friend in England used to live near Chipping-Sodbury. He always fell into hysterics at the mention of Kilmacud.

Rabbit Hash is a small town in Kentucky. They have elected several dogs as mayor of the town the Hog who ran against the last one just didn't have enough popularity.
There's a small town in Ohio called Knockemstiff not too far from Nipgen (nip-shun) No one is really sure how it came by that name. A fight? someone's still turned out some really lethal shine? Might be a little hard to live up to the name if you came from Knockemstiff.
