Where has Admiral Brown gone?

This is something I just remembered. I was at the Tall Ships and my family were with me, I'm fairly familiar with the area so I was giving them a bit of a tour. We were walking up Admiral Brown Walk hoping to show them the Admiral only to find him gone and a poorly tarmaced square in his place. I thought maybe this was…

I thought maybe this was just due to the festival but I was up around there on friday and hes still gone. Anyone know what the story is?
