Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When was the last time you looked up a business online?

    In the last 24 hours
    In the last week
    or in the last Month.

It's be good to put in my business plan something like "24 out of 40 people have searched online for a business in the last month."

    Cheers.

Is it an escort business? It's an escort business, isn't it?

doesnt matter if everyone in the country "looks up" a business online daily, if your business model is flawed you're doomed to failure.

Possibly in the last week but definitely in the last month.

Best of luck with the new venture. Always great to see people taking the risk to start a new business!!

By business, you mean a company offering products or a service in exchange for money? In that case within the last 15 minutes.

Any time I need a product or service beyond cigarettes or groceries, the internet is the first place I search tbh.

    If that's what you need...

True, but my business plan has already won an award, and I'm just cleaning it up a little.

antodeco: the rest of my questions have been answered :)

    Brendan Flowers: Thanks.

I used to just look up the businesses if I wanted something, and now I also check insolvency sites and company records sites, to avoid getting screwed.

You will get very skewed results from an internet forum

maybe there's somesting in the last census or another CSO survey about internet usage?
it would be a much more reliable source than surveying on a random online forum.

Why did the OP not add a poll ?

More importantly, why did they think to ask in AH and not in more relevant forums like Entrepreneurial & Business Management?

I look up various types of business, is there any one in particular you are interested in? As your survey could end up being as useful as those in L'Oreal ads.

    "88% of 32 women..."

Yeah but asking on Boards isn't going to allow you to provide that info, you could say "24 out of 40 people using the After Hours forum on the website boards.ie on the 10th of September have searched online for a business in the last month"

The Central Statistics Office might be of more use, they have a document "Information Society and Telecommunications in Households 2009-2011" that could be of use

So in the OP you think the results of the thread may help in your business plan, and by ten posts in you have won an award for the business plan. It's all happening.

Also, I don't understand the question... Do you mean have we searched a particular business name on the internet, or searched for something like where to buy something online?

AH is not the place OP.
