Kilkenny Musical Society- celebrating 40 years!

    Hi all,

    Well as is said above, KMS are celebrating 40 years of productions and we have a huge amount of things planned for the next 8 months to mark this milestone. For those of you who wish to become involved (both old and new members), here is a list of events that are on our calendar this year:

    *11th September (tomorrow)- Rehearsals begin for our fundraising concert at 8pm in O'Faolain's, John St.

    *19th & 20th October- Fundraising concert celebrating 40 years of KMS, Watergate Theatre.

    *Week of 19th November- An information Night about "Pirates of Penzance" will be held, definite date to be decided so check back for more details.

    *Week of 26th November- Auditions for "Pirates of Penzance", definite date to be decided (audition pieces will be distributed well in advance of this).

    *8th March- Ruby Ball celebrating 40 years of KMS, Langton's (dinner, dancing, and a few surprises!)

    *We will also be adding in some more informal events throughout the year, including our usual table quizzes, race nights, nights out, and much more.

    We always welcome new members, and it is not necessary to audition unless you wish to try out for a lead role. KMS is a great way to get to know people if you are new to Kilkenny, or even to make new friends if you are a local! Of course, as we celebrate our Ruby Anniversary, we'd love to welcome back some past members to join in events this year so if you have been involved with KMS before or know somebody who has, please do get in touch with us! Spread the word to anyone you think might be interested- and even if you don't want to become directly involved yourself, please do come along to our many events in 2012/2013 and support us in our 40th year!!

    Looking forward to entertaining you (or perhaps with you!) this year!

    Just to let people know that tickets are now on sale for our Anniversary concert- "Ruby Revue" which is on the 19th & 20th of this month. It's going to be a really great night, with loads of old and new faces taking to the stage- there's a huge mix of songs from loads of different shows so there's something there for everyone really!

    Also, I see here there's a thread here about people wanting to get out and meet others/start hobbies etc- we'll be starting rehearsals for "Pirates of Penzance" probably some time in December (possibly even end November) so do consider joining us, you'll make great friends and have lots of fun- even if it's something you've never considered, think about it- we've lots of members who never thought they'd try it and now they're completely converted! No need to audition unless you want to go for a specific part.
