Gibson's a good solid mid table premier league player as he's showed much of last season and plenty this season, he just wasn't man united / champs league standard.

Each time he played for Ireland he wasn't in the united team for a run of consecutive games, I can guarantee you that a McCarty and Gibson midfield both coming in with games under their belt is better than ANYTHING we could muster in an Irish midfield.

Some of these lads deserve call-up's to the full team, especially in these pointless friendlies that we are so intent on playing.

I mean, what is the point of playing McShane, Keogh and the like? We know what these guys can do, and it's not much.

Would really like to see those two play together but i dont know if they are solid enough. If we are not going to play Wilson or Clark in their best positions i wouldnt mind seeing either of them sitting deep behind McCarthy and Gibson.
