Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

England XI: Hart Johnson, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines; Gerrard, Lampard; Milner, Cleverley, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Defoe.

Subs: Walker, Ruddy, Bertrand, Cahill, Carrick, Livermore, Lallana, Sturridge, Welbeck, Sterling, Butland.

Ukraine XI: ngleterre : Pyatov - Gusev, Khacheridi, Rakitskiy, Selin - Garmash, Tymoschuk - Yarmolenko, Rotan, Konoplyanka - Zozulya.

Subs: Koval, Shevchuk, Bezus, Mandziuk, Nazarenko, Stepanenko, Butko, Devich, Dykan.

A tougher test than Moldova, no doubt.

No Sterling in starting 11  :p

Actually surprised he is on bench...will he get 10 seconds?

If the game is going well I'd say he will get a few seconds at the end just to end interest from Jamaica where he was born and spent his first few years.

Great strike!! Love hearing the English commentator going almost silent when that went in.

    Bang . .

Have 30 squid on England not winning (so get draw or Ukraine win!) . .

I know Ireland are poor, but if we had the talent available to England and were playing like they have played since 96, I would be even sicker then the putrid football our limited ability players show under trapp . .

What I want to know is why they keep mentioning the Ukraine non-goal in the Euros, it was offside anyway but they've referenced it at least 5 times.

Because it makes them think they were better in the ECs then they actually were . . If you consider the performances they put in, they were just as shocking as Ireland . .

Oh Tom Cleverly. Looks brutal in front of goal.

Anyone else think England look alot more balanced when Rooney doesn't play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

I really don't see what the fuss is about Cleverly. Distinctly average footballer. If he was playing for any other club, he wouldn't get a sniff of a chance with England.

my god - how bad of a player is Cleverly

They scraped a 1-0, 2-0 would obviously be more flattering . . and theres nothing English media love then trying to make their team sound better then it is or by hammering it and making it sound so much worse then it is . . Never a balance with those clowns . . (media that is)

Cleverly is having a mare, the ref was too for the England "goal" of course.

If Hodgson had a pair he'd put Sterling on...

    LOL

Talented young midfielder has poor night in front of goal.

    Must be sh*te innit yeah?

I heard that the only reason Utd didn't romp to a certain league title last season was due to Cleverly getting injured early season...

Be good enough to earn a pro contract at United and a call up to the England senior squad?

That's all? I'd at least expect someone to have performed on the pitch at a decent level before he's called talented.

So.... odds on next England manager?

And for United, he has done well. Not world class well, I don't think he'll be world class. I also don't think he's the reason we didn't win the league. He's not ****e though.

England picking up a lot of yellows here.

Hang on give Roy a chance he just needs time, he is a great manager, well i remember hearing this before somewhere anyway.

watching england try to play as a team but failing , i always wonder how a team with a lot of players from the one club would do,
    hart
    jones smalling ferdinand cole
    walcott clev carrick ox
    rooney
    welbeck
im not saying clev or carrick is better than gerrard or smaling is better than terry, but imo that would be a harder england team to beat than any other because all the games they play together, i only picked utd because they prob have the most english players in or around the squad
