Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Duh.

We are preparing for the zombie apocalypse.

But don't worry Ireland. When was the last time you saw a zombie swim?

Reason why there are so many US & NATO bases in East Anglia is because of the Cold War era. Plus add the US base at Shannon.

Well during the Cold War, Shannon was used more by Soviet aircraft. The US presence is a relatively new thing. There's always periods of increased flying/training. The French were talking about a no-fly zone over Syria so maybe they're just sharpening their skills incase they have to take part in something.

    No, not at all.

I'd be more of the notion that Irish men and women take to the streets, there's a social class war taking place at the min I think.

The rich are getting richer. One class of people are only protecting the interests of themselves.

No you can relax. Due to an inbuilt desire for procrastination and apathy that is in our genes, the average Joseph(ine) O Soap will not get riled up enough to take to the streets. Small pockets of people have done and were successful (the recent protests from about a small group disabled people who got Reilly to do a U-Turn on cuts and of course the Grey Brigade again who got their Medical Cards back) but not the majority of the citizenry. Too much work.

Oh Christ. Can there not be ONE thread where no one mentions the fucking recession

    Please?

Having said that Ghandee has a point, a bit of trouble and strife abroad might bring us out of recession. Lets dump our neutrality, sign up with our US brethern and start making a few war planes and ships and get our hands on some of that 1.2 trillion dollars they spend every year. Work for everyone and perhaps a wee competition, if you build 10 fighters jets, you get to keep the 11th.

Yea, Killing people and using our men as cannon fodder is a great idea to get some silver from America. We're much too thick to do anything else !!

    I'm calling shenanigans.

I just looked up google maps and there is no sign of this force gathering.

Being a source of cannon-fodder is a good way of reducing the unemployment figures, we wouldn't even have to pay for the cannons.:(

The Germans have a long history of APC's with a second driver at the back that can go backwards just as quickly as forwards.

Like the SdKfz232 or Spähpanzer Luchs
