Does anyone know what shop is going to occupy the space were the Tesco Bargain shop was, i saw them putting down wooden floors today so looks like a new tenant.

Any other new shops opening in the town, there were plans for Iceland to open this year but as of yet nothing.

Hope it is OK to ask this here, apologies if not.

What shops and coffee shops are in the GI centre? I have over an hour to kill before an interview so just wondering what places are there to have a look around and have a coffee?

    Thanks.

Not a whole lot in the GI shopping centre. There are a couple of coffee shops... Tesco, Boots, Elverys, Lifestyle, Penneys, A game shop, book shop, few boutique type shops and couple of phone shops.

If you take a 5 min walk to Athlone Town Centre shopping centre, there's a nice cafe and plenty of browsing type shops (mostly clothes though)

Good luck in the interview :)

Do you know if the 70 bus stops at Athlone town centre shopping centre? Or does it just drop off at a random street in the town centre?

Sorry for all the questions, I am not familiar with Athlone at all.

Where are you travelling from? It's a strange looking timetable, seems to be only a part service during the week, with the full service only done on Sunday.

Coming from the Mullingar direction it should stop at Golden Island and the Bus Station. Both are easily walkable to the Town Centre shopping centre.

There are loads of buses from the Galway direction on the No. 20. which stop at the Bus Station only.

Is there a Debenhams in Athlone?
