1. What is your budget? [€800]

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, BF, Skyrim, Wow, Arma

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No.

5. Do you need a monitor? No

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No.

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes to some extent

8. How can you pay? Credit card, laser

9. When are you purchasing? 2-3 weeks.

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin City/Cork City/Kerry/etc.] Yes, South dublin

Had another thread open, but was packed full of posts with me finding things out off people. If someone could throw a build togeather within that budget it would be great!

What resolution do you play on? Any plans on adding a second graphics card in the future?

1920x1080 i believe it is, i use a monitor TV so its bigger then your average monitor.
Not to pushed on adding a second graphics card, thats just if your using a second monitor right?

Nope, you can add another graphics card to give more fps in games (has to be pretty much the same as the one you end up getting ).. sometimes up to 2 times the performance.

But you will need a more expensive motherboard and power supply to give the option for that (and of course you'll have to buy the 2nd graphics card)

If you don't think you're going to ever add a 2nd card then you can go with a cheaper motherboard/power supply.

I cant see myself adding one any time soon. I would like a good preforming one though capable of battlefield and any new releases that will be coming out in the future.

hardwareversand (which is where I was going to do the basket) seem to be bank transfer only.. for first time customers at least

there is lots of other places that accept credit card/laser of course but will likely end up a bit more expensive especialy since hardwareversand have some nice discount codes as well.

sure, any preference for amd or nvidia graphics card? nvidia generally performs better in bf3 if that's the main game you play

What ever is the most efficient. wont be just BF. I'll be playing guild wars, WoW and Arma aswel so whatever you think would be best suited in the price range.

Would also like an SSD in there if its possible in the budget.

do you need alot of storage for files etc, how much space do you think you would need?

Maybe about 500-750GB itll be mainly games stored on it with some music, dont keep documents or pictures stored on it, have them all on externals

Things to note.. these prices are discounted so if you decide to go for these let me know and I'll give you the links.

SSD is only 64gb, enough for operating system and a couple of games. Could get a 128gb for around 35 euro more.
No option for SLI (dual nvidia graphics card) on that motherboard
Could go for an AMD gpu instead such as a 7870 which would be cheaper, but that 660ti is a nice price with the discount.

Would the case have a huge effect on temperatures? Reckon id need any extra fans?

It might..depends on the case really.

Some cases come with alot of fans whereas others are more orientated for silence (or have maybe only 1 fan to cut costs). Most of the best cases are in the 70-100 mark but you can get a suitable one for cheaper. Find one you like/fits into your budget and I'll let you know what I think of it

You'd probably want something a bit better, that case doesn't even come with an intake fan so cooling performance is going to be pretty poor.

Just noticed the GPU is out of stock and hasnt got a date for it to be back in? any idea hwo long HWVS usualy take getting stuff back in would i be better off waiting or is there a similar GPU for around the same price that will preform just as good?

Would http://lb.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=55042&agid=1942 be on par with the 660ti, i know the likes of BF3 is optimised with nvidia GPUs but the 660ti is out of stock at the moment. I did a bit a comparison between the two and they seem pretty much the same, just wanted to know any opinions people had.

The 7950 is better value overall because it overclocks like a beast tostock gtx 680 performance.
The Gigabyte windforce 3 is supposed to be a very good cooling solution and they also have a great RMA service.

Anyone able to recommend a PSU for the same price instead of this amazon one.

Im putting in the order thursday when all the items in the build should be in stock. Never ordered from HWVS before so i was wondering if i order it while its in my basket what is the general procedure will they hold the whole order till they have it? remove it from the order completely or will i get a error when purchasing?
