I went through the same thing when my daughter was three. However, the school didn't ask me to take her out. I just did it myself. Like your child, it could take an hour or two to settle her and I just didn't see any benefit in having her go through this each day she went. I tried her again when she turned four and it was a completely different experience. She was a bit nervous going the first day but she settled in straight away and even took on a motherly role with the younger children. I'm glad I took her out when she did. In her case, she simply wasn't ready and another year made a massive difference.

just to give a small update. We enrolled our son on a creche and he has integrated perfectly. He's happy to go there every morning and enjoy playing with other kids.
It's the exact opposite of how he felt at the school. We are now glad that things worked out this way.

It's a little outrageous to kick him out! My brother was sent home from pre-school in france when he was just 3, in fact a few days short, because he pooped in his underwear a few times. They told my mum he wasn't quite ready and only a week later he went back fine. Try to socialise him and bring him back to try again?

Id definately find a different playschool and maybe give him some more time at home. 3/4 months is a very long time in toddler time and your little one might be ready for somewhere for an hour for a week, extending it to two hours the next week. This happened our little fella so we left it about 4 months and found a different playshcool and while taking things slowly he got on great.

Sorry seen your post - glas things have worked out
