Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big game for Bohs tonight, lose and our season is essentially over. Tails will be up after the big win on Monday but need to keep our feet on the ground and get the job done. Hopefully the team have learned the dangers of complacency after Thor.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Live in hope.

    Finally :)

Am heading to Tolka tonight, seriously hoping for a Shels win :D

Would be hoping for a reaction from the players and the fact that the game is not in Tallaght is good going on form. Not expecting anything though.

So you expect to lose to a side that has won just 3 out of 13 home league games this season?

Dundalk will be up for this and will be playing for a draw. Even if we draw I'm confident we'll beat them up there as their small squad will struggle to play twice in 3 days

In a cup quarter final when Rovers have just sacked their manager, lost to Bohs at home, were lucky to draw at home to Shels 7 days ago, several players whose attitude is at best poor, their star striker hasn't scored in ten games and who leak goals with equally shocking home form. Yeah..

You make it seem like a pretty even match tonight. :D

We'd love to have sacked our manaager......

That's the only fear I have, Shamrock Rovers with a new manager...sometimes, this gives the players a boost.

Btw...if it's draw after 90 minutes, will there be extra time and pennos, or a replay? I really don't know

    If it's a draw after 90 mins, there'll be no extra-time.

Replay, if needed, will be in Tallaght on Monday evening.

(Winning after a replay would be a great financial boost for the club).

Bit of a bollox that there are no matches on live.

Think it's 60:40 for the home side (as they foot the bill for security, match officials, etc).

    Not 100% sure though.

We dont have a new manager, we have an assistant manager stepping up, who isnt fit to lace the boots of the players let alone manage them.

I think some players need to realise that they probably wont get a new contract next season if they keep up this work ethic. Twigg for one is a shadow of himself, we wont be breaking the bank to resign with his current record.

Rovers down to 10 men! Oman off!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,068 ✭✭✭LoonyLovegood

Half time in two matches, Derry winning 3-0 against Mervue (anyone surprised? No?) and Pats and Drogheda are scoreless.

I can't lie, I would have loved to see Mervue beat Derry, just because they're first division. No chance now though.

Could really go trophy-less now, and no Europe next year!

Full time, 2-1. Every game in Tolka I've missed this season we won. Should stay away more often!

    Good win for Shels.

Drogs are hard to beat :(

Doubt we will get anything up there, Sava got man of the match even tho he didnt have a lot to do. Beating Drogs gets you an xbox achievement this year.

Shamrocks catching up on us in the stupid cup thing.

Fantastic footballer but doesn't half leave a dent on the pitch when he goes on a "run". :D

    I'd start him every time

What the holy fúck happened for their goal? Bastard Shels conceding in injury time again.

First goal was excellent, Casso great winning the ball and squaring.

Header was brilliant for the second.

Was it a red? Yeah probably.

Alan Kelly is a shít referee.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,694 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

It says it all about Rovers at the minute that not even Shels could bottle that lead, despite their attempt.

Shels no 5 left it for the keeper and the keeper was expecting him to head it...it's about the only way Rovers were going to score.

Cracking header for the second. Leaped like a salmon..

    In the second, poison.

I think that cross might've been the only shot on target from Rovers, so Shels were well worth their win, but still..

Also, I've a sore throat from abusing Kelly.

    It wasn't.

Bennion made a decent save in the first half, down to his right.

The save by the Rovers Keeper at the end of the first half was brilliant too btw.

Think thats a bit unfair, we badly missed Cronin and Gorman who had both really driven us on in terms of workrate in the first, but we defended well when we had to (except for the obvious howler) and really could have got more than just the 2.
