How to get the best signal Mobile Wireless modem.

Hi I have a Three Wireless Modem and the service isnt that good. How do I get the best signals with these devices? I currently am Living in Carlow Town

Firstly, make sure your USB modem has an external aerial plug on it.

Then buy an external aerial. This is the one I use, complete with 5m of cable and a CRC9 pigtail connector to connect to a typical Huawei modem. http://www.connextech.co.uk/3g-external-high-gain-directional-antenna-bundle---200202-231-p.asp

Use Siteviewer to point it at your closest mast. http://www.askcomreg.ie/mobile/siteviewer.273.LE.asp

This took my signal from from 11% with constant dropouts to 43% and rock solid.
