    Hi John,

Thinking of treating myself (if I don't, who will....) to a CA Dac.

Want it for use with Philips 21:9 TV + Philips 21:9 BRP, Denon 2113 AVR, Denon 710 cd player, Humax, Boxee Box and occasional Mac Book Pro/iPad/iPhone use.

Question is.....can all of the main parts be connected simultaneously or will I have to be swopping cables in and out each time I want to use a different component?

And, headphone jack aside...what are the benefits of the DacMagicPlus over the 100? In layman's terms if you would!

As someone who has a similar(ish) set up, I have a DAC also, but I only use it for playing CDs through either the Stereo amp, or through the AV amp.

    Hi,

Do you find it makes a discernible difference?

In fairness, I don't have a CA DAC which do come highly recommended (mine is one not sold by RS).
I do enjoy the sound through my system! (does that answer your question) :-)
I feel that if you have high end equipment, including speakers, then it would be justified.
Anyway, this forum is for interaction with RS, my input would be better off over in the http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=867 area!

    Hey Butter.

The DAC Magic plus uses 2 digital to analogue convertors, one for each channel which makes the process a much more accurate one and a much more detailed one. In essence, it sounds a lot better than the 100.

The connections are a lot shorter than the plus as well.

The plus has 2 optical, 2 coaxial, balanced XLR and USB.

The plus also has the ability to take a BT100 which is the wireless adaptor.

The Philips will almost certainly use a coaxial.
    Humax is optical.
Boxee seems to be optical as well ????
    Macbook pro usb.
The iphone and ipad will not connect to the dacmagic unless you run it through an ID100 ipod dock.

Connections should be O.K. without having to plug and unplug.

Hope this helps, but keep us posted.
