Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is Lindegaard stronger when coming for corners? Thats the only reason i could see him being put in

i think the defence is more confident seeing big AL coming for crosses than they would be with De Gea.

Clev will have to muck in and do a lot of work to help out Carrick today imo

Starting to feel the heat now, figuratively speaking. A United win is all I ask, something tells me that Liverpool may win, 2-0, it would be typical to be honest; when Liverpool are playing badly coming up to a United game they usually win. I want to see a good game, but a United win is the only important thing.

Confirmed #LFC team: Reina, Kelly, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Allen, Gerrard, Shelvey, Borini, Sterling, Suarez.

Subs: Jones, Enrique, Sahin, Assaidi, Henderson, Carragher, Suso.

Prefer to see Johnson at right full and Enrique at left full. Other than that its slim pickings.

    Lindegaard. :(

That United team is wrong, hate it when that happens

United line up; Lindegaard, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, Van Persie

Manchester United XI: Lindegaard, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, Van Persie

United subs: De Gea, Anderson, Hernandez, Welbeck, Scholes, Cleverley, Buttner #MUFC

    Very Very Attack minded bench!

    I can't believe he's actually picked Giggs...

You'd think, just once, that we could get to kick-off time before we have any ****-ups. Christ on a bike.

Has Fergie done it again ??

    Why no Vidic....injured

Man Utd XI v Liverpool: Lindegaard, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, Van Persie

No Vidic is a surprise. Hopefully it's not a bad injury.

If another CB is injured for us im going to lose the plot

Proper order. I commend Rogers for such a decision. Managers are too easily swayed in favour of players with a bigger reputation.

Who is going to be captain today?

    Evra? Rio?

Liverpools defence is still very tame and have the jitters, that attack pick by fergie is to close them down and put them under pressure

Make sense for it to be Giggs. Evra needs no more of the spotlight on him if captains are required to do anything pre KO

If Allen is on his game he could play/pass Giggs out of it.

Giggs had been around the block too many times to be played out of it by a sideways passer, to be fair.

Stop letting yourself be influenced by Alan Shearer and his ridiculous "analysis" on MOTD

He ain't the quickest at closing down now is he.

Your sideways passer comment is a tad simplistic.

Yea I hope for Evra's sake that it's someone else.

Anyway I'm off to the pub. Best of luck to the mods on here. I'm glad I'm not one.

To everyone else take it easy. Don't get too worked up :pac:.

Third time in a row against Liverpool he's made a shocking decision.

Liverpool now because we won't be able to hold the ball with Giggs.

He might but it's a double or quits call from Fergie... Was it needed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Not the team I was hoping for. A bit of a kick in the teeth for De Gea. Don't understand Fergies thinking. De Gea is the better keeper.

Disappointed there's no Vidic. He's still a long way off good form but just so important to the team.

Giggs in CM? Jesus! Why not just put Cleverley in there!

I'd expect Kagawa to play a little deeper than usual with that line up.

In fact the more I think about it the more disappointed I am to see Giggs there instead of Cleverley. Utd look at their clueless worst when the tempo of their game drops and that's bound to happen with a Giggs/Carrick partnership. The on,y time Utd have looked anyway impressive this season is when they have played at a high tempo with a lot of one/two touch football played. It's only happened sporadically in matches and there is little chance of it happening with Giggs in the centre.

Liverpool do up their games in the bigger matches. With the weekend that's in it and Liverpool playing at a high tempo, and the Utd line up, I'm predicting at best, a draw for Utd with a Liverpool win the misy likely outcome.

Well that's settled then, Giggs to score and United to win 1-0 @ 70/1.

    3-1 United.

I trust Fergie, and too be honest I genuinely think Ryan Giggs will do well today, why else would Fergie pick him? Come on United!!

Was it feck needed. I'd rather any of our other 3 midfielders we have on the bench in his place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Fergie must think he can at least hold us until the hour mark, hence putting Giggs in and no Cleverley, which is fair enough given our lack of goals in general recently.

i still think he should have more energy in the middle, but who am i to complain, eh?!

good luck mods with all this; these are the days i don't miss it at all ;)

big game from nani today will keep the haters quiet for a bit

Disappointed with Giggs ahead of Cleverely. Otherwise, pretty happy.

Going to enjoy this, think we'll win this. Then again, with derbies, you just never know.

Love the intro from Sky, but let's be honest, it's impossible for a montage to not be impressive when The Script is the backing music.

No Vidic, has Fergie forgotten that Torres doesn't play for Liverpool anymore?

I would be disappointed if Fergie made the decision to 'hold' Liverpool for 60 mins. Liverpool may very well win today but it doesn't change the fact that we should be winning here today and certainly should be going out for the kill from the first second.
