Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

With all the tech stuff we use these days of mixed benefit I thought it would be an idea to hear what people think are the worst most frustrating ones. I'll start. Irish rail. What a load of balls. Can't even buy tickets for most journeys online in this day and age.

It is kind of useless, you can't upload music using it and its temperamental, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, I just use the cable now.

any one of these supposedly good popular phone applications with a CamelCaseName(tm). Turns out to be just well marketed ad-ware in most cases. Back in my days you used to run a program to scan for such shoite installed on your computer and then delete it and find an alternative.

Now applications spying on you and bringing you targetted ads has become acceptable

    You're not using it right.

Send and make calls or texts over a wireless internet connection rather than the phone network.

Isn't that what Skype is for?

Skype is based on usernames. Viber matches with phone numbers so it's easier to see what phone contacts use it

Linux - ridiculously overcomplicated to install a simple program, for instance:
    su -c yum install 'program'

    Da fuk?

I now use it as an backup in case Windows crashes, i.e, about once a year.

In the windows world you have to find an app.
Then check if it's malware/legit/free/shareware/reviews etc.
Possibly windows genuine advantage and sign up for email

Then you can go through this process.

In the Ubuntu world you just mash the keyboard with what you think the command should be and it'll probably come back with something like - can't find xyz , did you mean zyx ? its not installed but just cut/paste this line to install it.

It's awful. Still better than iTunes though, what an awful awful program.

Kies Air is actually pretty good though, wireless transfer of everything from files to contacts, yes please.

Depends on what you need it for. Clearly, you don't need it at all! Linux is insanely useful for software engineers, or anyone working with computers at all really.

Not technically an APP but at work we are still stuck on ie f*cking 6

ya know the ie6 thats full of security flaws that microsoft have begged people to update?

Yeah that one. And we are in a area that has classified yada yada (insurance) and there are 80000 employees worldwide and the majority of them are on ie6.

it boggles the mind as the reason we aren't getting updated anytime soon is because of security.

    go figure

I think thats much easier then:
    Download
    Double Click install/setup
    Click Next
Click Next (If you dont have to scroll to the end of the license agreement)
    Click Next
    Click Next
    Click Next
    Click Next
    Click Next
    Wait
    Click Finish
    Maybe/Maybe not Reboot

It's a poor poor poor piece of software.

Update a firmware with kies, then update with Odin.

Let me know which one is less hassle.

Will kies even let you upgrade to newer versions of android? It once told me my buggy Hutchison 3G-branded firmware was the latest version when it wasn't but Odin sorted it for me.
