    Good result with some lovely goals. I don't know what it is about Defoe but he always used to just blast the ball when presented with goal scoring opportunities whereas lately he's had much more finesse, with some nice placed finishes and chips. I don't know if he's matured or whether it's a training thing but he seems a much more rounded striker now.

    Good display by Dempsey again tonight,Walker finding his form aswell.

    Dempsey looked better coming in from the left than playing in the center but at least he seems to be getting some confidence back, I really worry about Naughton, I like to give young players a chance but his confidence must be getting knocked badly. Rose seems to be playing well at Sunderland but he needs to improve his attitude.

    defoes goal was certainly not a typical defoe finish. dare i say it, it seemed almost messi-esce. a delightful chip.
