I'd expect Lloris, Dawson, Huddlestone and Sigurdsson to start, plus maybe one of Townsend or Smith.. so something like:

Lloris
Walker - Dawson - Caulker - Vertonghen
Huddlestone - Sandro
Lennon - Sigurdsson - Townsend
Defoe

Dempsey could play instead of Lennon or Defoe I guess.

I'd like us to play a strong team but I'd prefer to rest Jan, Walker,Sandro and Defoe!

Even at this early stage the players will start getting tired an become prone to picking up an injury.

You could see the difference when we played QPR after the last Europa League game.

Only problem is who do we replace them with?

If Livermore and Add are back slot them in straightaway.

This is where the EL becomes a pain in the ass.

The players need (and deserve) a rest after Satursday game but if AVB picks his strongest XI then we will struggle big time against villa.

I suppose thats the price you pay for dropping points at home to Lazio but what is the point in beating United of you are going to throw it all away by (possibly) losing to villa a week later.

I would defo rest Sandro and if at all possible I'd rest lennon, Defoe and Walker too.

for some reason on UPC, football on ITV4 is never shown. Assume its to do with rights so watching it with the sound off for me..

3e or Setanta have the rights in Ireland and I think thats the reason.

Happy that Daws scored and he looked delighted.

Hopefully coast on to the win in the second half with no injury worries and give some of the lads a rest and the younger lads a chance.

I think they had a stat earlier that he has not scored since February, we need more than that from him, especially in AVB's formation.

What's bugged me was so much talk this week of 'Spurs want to lift Europa
League trophy', it's like we thought once we went 1-0 up the game was over.

I know Dawson and Huddlestone are rusty and combined for our goal but they both showed why they are squad fillers. Very poor.

The frustrating thing is sending our first team out there and doing that, if it was our kids you could at least say it was experience. With the team we sent out we should have been winning and making the rest of the group easier.
