Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Live on Setanta Sports Ireland 7.45pm

    Arsenal line up;
Mannone, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelan, Gibbs, Gervinho, Diaby, Cazorla, Arteta, Podolski, Giroud.

Tough game for us tonight but I still fancy us to win the match by the odd goal, delighted to see Giroud start and hopefully he can get his first goal for us tonight.

    COYG :D

Worried at Diaby playing, would much rather him to be rested and be fresh for City at the weekend.

Have a great feeling Giroud is going to break his duck tonight. No better place than where he won the league last season and finished top scorer. Come on Arsenal!!!

I'm really surprised diaby is playing. Really thought he'd be rested. It's a really strong team out there from arsenal. A lot stronger then I thought would be playing. Wenger obviously taking no chances

    Chesney dropped ?
Ankle problem from the Southampton game, you could see him clutching after the clanger goal.

20 second yellow card for Diaby.
    Harsh ref

Ref gives a penalty, we won't get any favours tonight.

Jenkinson really coming on this year. Peno? ! Bugger

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

It was definitely a peno. Nothing to do with the ref tbh.

Initial reaction was that it was neither in the box nor a foul but looking at the replay it was the right call unfortunately.

    Pretty 50/50 tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Mannone definitely could have got to that if he'd jumped back up.

    Nice assist by Giroud too.

Poor enough attempted save from Mannone, it looked like Mertesacker was mad with him for it.

A goal!!! Lovely deft pass from Giroud.

Great play by Gervinho and a lovely ball in by Jenkinson :), one more goal and ill be a happy man.

I'm so surprised at how good Jenkinson has been this year. Developing into a very good player.

Jenkinson is looking better and better with each game.

Poldi's been a cracking signing. Early contender for signing of the season. To get a player like that for circa £10m with the way prices are gone is incredible value.

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,410 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

Whats with all this optimism around here then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Its an open enough game with decent movement from Montpellier. Good for the neutral viewers. Not great for us. I can see them getting another goal. Then again I can see us getting a couple more as well :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

    Good defending jenks

I have to say I was worried he'd flop. Couldn't have imagined he'd be this good, especially so soon. Great signing.

Mbiwa is a bit of a Toure; all action, less thought to things. Would probably do will with a tactically astute partner to guide him.

    Good save.
