our county and city managers etc

    the top ten earners in the county council and the city council earn 2 millions between the, over 1 million per each lot, plus the add ons, then add on their pension entitlements, do they repesent value for money, people are giving out about our councilers expenses, these folks put them in the penny halfpenny place, what would their income be if the councils were privatised, how many of them can be done without, i found out this courtesy of the irish examiner today the list reads like this
    year 2011
    city manager 142,456
    4 directors of service 98,677 to 106,900
    3 senior engineers 81,886 to 87,117
    senior exective officer 84,036
    a nice 1,006,258

    county manager 142,169
    5 directors of services 90,453 to 106,900
    head of finannce 90, 453 to 106,900
    vetinary officer 60,555 to 94,353
    5 senior engineers 73,223 to 87,117
    chief fire officer 73,223 to 87,117
    regional waste coordinator 73,223 to 84,036
    what the top 10 earn 1,052,496
    we do not have the top earners in the country

    what do you think folks.

    Well with the city and county manager job merged there is a saving there.
    I would imagine some of those jobs would be scrapped come the full merger

    There will be new titles created to replace the scrapped jobs.


    Just have a look at the proposed new set up. Yes they are merging but there will be three sections within the new singular authority. One for the city centre, one for the Castletroy/Annacotty and some of the other surrounding areas, and one for the county.

    No doubt they will need a head person for the three sections once it comes into play, as well as one top role over the three, plus all the lesser roles for each section.

    Have a nasty feeling that by the time the new set up is fully up and running that there may actually be more fairly high to high paying positions as a whole for the boys rather than less.
